Wear Spring-Worthy Fashions in the Winter!

Â

The holidays are over; it’s now January and you’ve been wearing fall clothes since September and you’re over it. All the fashion magazines are showing their amazing spring lines, but it’s 40 degrees outside! What’s a girl to do? You can start working in the spring trends into your winter wardrobe! But first you need to know what to look for.

What’s hot for Spring 2012:Â

Techno Craft – styles filled with modern-edged craft details in a range from biker chick to sexy, fitted suit with a little edgy hardware. Yes, even leather this spring!

Pop Culture: Brights, The new IT-shades. Clean and flashy shades that give your wardrobe a punch of color.

Innocence – An overtly feminine trend with delicate boudoir sheers and pretty patterns.Â

African Beat – Simple shapes in colorful ethnic & animal patterns.

Natural World – Natural patterns and fabrics in nature’s designs. Think cotton eyelet and canvas skirts mixed with soft classics. So pretty!

Scuba Gear– Sexy, body defining lines inspired by the curves of a wet suit. Interpretations of this style are often seen in jackets and dresses.

How do you mix it together?

Start with your winter classics you’re already wearing like slacks, jeans, boots with skirts, etc. You just add the spring pieces in the colors that match the classics you already are wearing.

Here are a few examples of transitioning you can do right now.Â

Innocence: Wear the new sheers over a tank finished with a fitted blazer with skinny jeans and boots. When the weather warms up, belt the sheer blouse and wear over a fitted skirt, lose the jacket and wear with romantic jewelry and sandals.

Techno Craft– This look has strong textiles like leather, so it’s easy to wear in the winter. In the spring, wear a soft biker jacket over a sheer or feminine skirt and pearls for a cool contrast.

Pop Culture– Wear it in the winter over boots or with slacks and jacket. In spring, wear it with capris or a skirt, bright sandals, cuff bracelets and bright nail polish!

Remember that whenever you see a new trend and it looks over the top, you can always take a piece of that style and make it your own and interpret it for your body type and occasion. Wearing something new and fun when the weather is bleak outside can make you smile a little more and give you a little more sass to your step. Be one of the first to rock the spring fashions and give them something to talk about!

The choice is always yours, make it a good one!
